Terms of Service
Last updated: May 11, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using TriSift (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Account Eligibility
The Service is intended for academic researchers, students, and professionals working on evidence synthesis. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and provide accurate registration details. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. License and Permitted Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for legitimate research purposes consistent with these Terms. You may not sublicense, resell, or rebrand TriSift without prior written permission.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to screen content that is unlawful, defamatory, or violates third-party rights.
- Automate, scrape, or programmatically extract data from the Service outside the documented exports.
- Attempt to bypass credit metering, RLS policies, rate limits, or any security control.
- Upload data you do not have the right to use.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service infrastructure.
- Use the Service to generate or screen harmful, abusive, or deceptive content.
Violations may result in suspension or termination without refund.
5. Payment Terms
TriSift uses a pay-per-use credit model. One credit screens one paper. Credit-pack prices are listed on the Pricing page in USD and charged through our Saudi-licensed payment processor, Moyasar, in Saudi Riyals at the prevailing conversion rate.
Credits do not expire under normal use but are non-refundable once consumed. Unused credits may be refunded at our discretion if requested within 14 days of purchase and not used. Failed screenings (caused by upstream provider outages on our side) do not consume credits.
6. AI Disclaimers
The Service uses third-party large language models (GPT, Claude, Gemini). While the triple-AI consensus design is intended to maximize accuracy, no automated system is infallible. You acknowledge that:
- AI decisions are advisory and not a substitute for trained human judgment.
- Researchers remain responsible for final inclusion/exclusion decisions in any published systematic review.
- The Service is not certified for clinical, diagnostic, or regulatory decision-making.
- You should treat TriSift as a screening accelerator that human reviewers verify, not as a replacement for peer review.
7. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to the citation data, criteria, and notes you upload. By using the Service you grant us a limited license to process that content solely to deliver screening results to you.
TriSift, its name, logo, code, prompts, UI, and supporting documentation remain our intellectual property. You may not copy or republish them without permission.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse credits, or pose a security risk. On termination, your access to projects ends; consumed credits are not refunded.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is capped at the total amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost data, lost research time, or missed publication deadlines.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
11. Disputes
Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith negotiation will be referred to binding arbitration in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, conducted in English under the rules of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration. Each party bears its own costs unless the tribunal rules otherwise.
